Terms of Service

These terms apply to the use of fakktura. By creating an account and using the service, you accept the terms.

1. About the service

fakktura is a web-based accounting and invoicing system for sole proprietors and small businesses. The service lets you create and send invoices, keep double-entry books, calculate and file the VAT return, export SAF-T and run the year-end close.

2. Provider

The service is provided by HEM, a sole proprietorship registered in Norway with organisation number 924 807 342 and business address Folke Bernadottes vei 6, 0862 Oslo. “fakktura” is the trading name HEM uses for the service.

Enquiries can be sent to us by post to the address above, or through your account in fakktura.

3. Account and access

To use fakktura you must create an account. You are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. The service requires two-factor authentication.

You must be of legal age and entitled to represent the business you keep books for.

4. Your responsibility for the books

fakktura is a tool that helps you keep books in line with the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act. You are responsible for ensuring that the data you enter is accurate and complete, and that your accounts, VAT return and other filings to public authorities are correct and submitted on time.

fakktura does not provide accounting, tax or legal advice. If you need such advice, you should consult an accountant or auditor.

5. Pricing and payment

You can create an account and start using fakktura at no cost. There is no lock-in period.

Any prices for future paid features will be stated clearly before you choose to use them. No charges arise without your prior consent.

6. Availability and operation

We work to keep fakktura available and stable, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates or circumstances beyond our control may cause interruptions. We take regular backups of your data.

7. Your data

The accounting data you enter into fakktura belongs to you. You can export your data at any time, including as a SAF-T file.

How we process personal data is described in the privacy policy.

Read the privacy policy

8. Acceptable use

You must not use fakktura for unlawful purposes, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or to others' data, or disrupt the operation of the service. We may restrict or close an account in the event of material misuse.

9. Limitation of liability

fakktura is provided as is. We are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, or loss caused by errors in data you have entered yourself, or for filings for which you are responsible towards public authorities.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be disclaimed under mandatory Norwegian law.

10. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We retain accounting records for as long as the law requires, including after the account is closed — see the privacy policy.

We may terminate or restrict access to the service in the event of a material breach of these terms.

11. Changes to the terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force at any given time is published on this page. Continued use of the service after an update counts as acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

Norwegian law governs these terms and the use of the service. If a dispute arises, we would prefer to resolve it directly — please contact us first.

If we cannot reach agreement, Oslo District Court is the legal venue, unless mandatory legislation provides otherwise.
